As the EU prepares to roll out its Digital Product Passport (DPP) regulation, Nordic companies are stepping up to turn compliance into competitive advantage. At the heart of this transformation is Data to Business, an Interreg-funded initiative helping brands across the fashion, furniture, and design sectors harness data for circular innovation. As the technology partner for BRAV, National Sweden, and Manufacture Oslo, Repass is proud to support Scandinavian companies through this journey.

What is Data to Business?

“How to move from compliance pressure to business potential. How to make Digital Product Passports (DPP) more than just reporting tools – and into real assets for resale, repair, customer engagement and sustainable innovation.”
— Heidi Svane Pedersen, Project Leader

Data to Business supports 60 Nordic brands in transforming data from a compliance burden into a strategic asset. By focusing on new revenue streams, stronger customer loyalty, and increased market value, the project helps companies develop prototypes of digital product passports. These prototypes are showcased in an exhibition aimed at the next generation of consumers, buyers, and influencers—highlighting the practical value of data-driven innovation.

Repass: Driving the Digital Backbone

This is where we come in.

As the DPP technology partner for BRAV, National Sweden, and Manufacture Oslo, Repass plays a central role in shaping how data is structured, visualized, and activated. Our mission is to make DPP implementation not only feasible—but valuable.

We began by asking two key questions:

What should we do? And can it generate value?

Our answer: Start small. Test fast. Scale smart.

We help companies select a few products, map their data journey, and test results in the market—through sales teams, e-commerce, and customer feedback. We build minimal, modular setups that are easy to evaluate and designed to grow. And we support implementation directly or through trusted partners. By embedding transparency into storytelling, we help brands turn compliance into customer relations.

European Single Market Strategy and Roadmap

The European Commission’s strategy for a resilient internal market positions DPPs within a broader digital ecosystem—including EU Digital Identity, Digital Business Wallets, and machine-readable standards. This means any solution adopted today must align with this roadmap—not just for compliance, but future-proof market access. At Repass, we ensure our solutions are built with this long-term vision in mind.

Customer Expectations and Market Trends

Today’s consumers expect far more than a QR code—they demand meaningful, transparent insights into the products they purchase. From luxury shoes to hotel beds, brands are already using Digital Product Passports (DPPs) to support new business models such as repair, rental, resale, and deeper customer engagement.

This shift is part of a broader trend: consumers are increasingly prioritizing sustainability, ethical sourcing, and circularity. According to recent market research, the global DPP market is growing rapidly, driven by rising demand for transparency and sustainable manufacturing practices. Customers want to know where a product comes from, what it’s made of, its environmental footprint, and whether it was produced under ethical conditions. In response, companies are adopting DPPs not only to meet regulatory requirements but also to build trust and brand loyalty.
