Hartlino’s Foundation for Digital Luxury Identity

Hartlino, the Norwegian luxury fashion brand known for redefining modern craftsmanship, is embracing Digital Product Passports (DPPs) to elevate transparency, identity, and customer experience. Hartlino demonstrates that innovation in luxury is not only about design — it is also about authenticity, provenance, and the story behind every detail.
By partnering with Repass, Hartlino is among the first Norwegian luxury labels to use Digital Product Passports not as a compliance tool, but as a strategic extension of their brand. The result is a seamless digital identity that strengthens trust and brings the world of Nordic luxury to new global markets.
Honouring Craftsmanship Through Technology
Hartlino’s garments are crafted from some of the world’s finest natural materials — silk, cashmere, suede leather — produced in long‑standing family‑owned factories in Italy. Their design process begins in Norway, before each piece comes to life through Italian craftsmanship passed down through generations.
"Hartlino specializes in crafting high-end fashion using the world's most precious and rare raw materials. Our design process begins in Norway, where we carefully design our products before they come to life in our longstanding family-owned factories with a rich heritage passed down through generations. At Hartlino, we blend cutting-edge techniques with a deep commitment to maintaining the natural essence of each raw material." - Hartlino
DPPs help bring this heritage into the hands of customers, translating craftsmanship into a digital experience that feels personal, elevated, and true to the brand.

Why Digital Product Passports? A Luxury Perspective
As Hartlino expands beyond Norway — with a flagship store in Oslo, a growing womenswear category, and presence at Oslo Runway — the brand needed a way to share its story internationally, without additional operational cost or complexity.
For Hartlino, DPPs offer:
- A scalable digital identity that travels with each garment
- A platform to communicate origin, materials, and care
- A storytelling layer that enhances brand authenticity
- A premium customer experience aligned with luxury expectations
DPPs become not just a regulatory tool, but a way to deepen the emotional connection between customers and products.
Inside the Digital Product Passport Experience
Hartlino’s Digital Product Passports offer customers a premium, story‑driven experience that mirrors the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship and transparency. By scanning a QR code or an NFC chip on the garment — whether in-store or at home — customers are taken directly into a curated digital universe that reflects Hartlino’s identity.
Each DPP contains a structured, beautifully presented overview of the garment, including:
- Product details such as style information, sizes and colors
- Origin transparency, showing where the garment was made and where materials come from
- Material insights explaining the qualities of silk, cashmere, suede leather and other natural fibers
- Care guidelines tailored to each material, ensuring long-lasting quality
- Links to complementary care products, like cashmere soap
- Brand storytelling highlighting craftsmanship, heritage, and the journey from Norway to Italy
The interface is customized with Hartlino’s logo, color palette, imagery, and tone of voice, making the experience feel unmistakably premium. With just a tap, customers gain access to the full narrative behind their garment — an intimate look at the craftsmanship, materials and values that define modern Nordic luxury.

Repass’ Role: Crafting a Digital Extension of the Brand
Repass worked closely with the Hartlino team, structuring and curating the product data, materials, images, and stories needed for the first DPPs. We ensured the digital experience felt elevated, intentional, and aligned with luxury fashion standards.
As one of Repass’ earliest customers, Hartlino has played a key role throughout our pilot phase, launch, and rebrand. This partnership has been foundational — built on collaboration, curiosity, and a shared ambition to shape the future of luxury transparency.

Looking Ahead
Hartlino’s vision is that every garment will one day have its own Digital Product Passport — telling a unique story from concept and sketching in Norway, to production in Italy, to customers across Norway, Switzerland, and England.
DPPs will become the digital thread connecting every part of the brand:
- Concept
- Design
- Craftsmanship
- Customer care
- Longevity
And ultimately, this will help Hartlino build a modern luxury identity rooted in authenticity, transparency, and craftsmanship.
